DJ Lissa Monet

DJ Lissa Monét eats, breathes, and sleeps music.

Having spun records for the likes of The Toronto Raptors, LeBron James, Ludacris, Drake, Rachel Roy and brands such as Sony Style, Fuze, and the LVMH group – Moët & Chandon and HennessyFYI – Everything in that last sentence is cool. Unless you’re in Cleveland, where LeBron is the exact opposite of cool. , DJ Lissa Monét has captivated tastemakers, party goers and music lovers with ego-free talent that delivers the right music and vibe to events with modesty and intelligence.

In her mid-teens, Lissa jumped feet first into the business, providing information to other industry colleagues in hopes of cultivating new partnerships and opportunities. Utitilzing social networks sites, Lissa discovered new artists and created mini mixtapes and her personal blog to connect people to new music or artists such as Ryan Leslie and DrakeSeems like Lissa gives good advice cause she keeps poppin up in Drake’s songs….

As a result, Lissa was simply dubbed ‘the go to girlTry and say that isn’t the sickest nickname…’ for all things new, innovative and exclusive. “Whenever I’d see a void, I’d use my resources and connect people to make things happen.”

That void was a lack of female DJs in the Toronto party scene. Fueled with her passion for music and encouragement from fellow DJ friends, Lissa bought two turnables, a mixer and started studying the art of mixing music.

Shortly thereafter, with her popularity spreading through word of mouth, Lissa started spinning popular club nights across Toronto. She was soon spinning in clubs in Detroit, New York and Atlanta.

DJ Lissa Monét was awarded the 2009 & 2010 Stylus Female DJ of the Year and was nominated in four categories in 2010 including Club DJ of the Year and Toronto DJ of the Year.
